“Esoteric City: Theological Hermeneutics in Plato’s Republic”
March 5, 2014
Abraxas: International Journal of Esoteric Studies #5 has been released. You can order it here. It has my article “Esoteric City: Theological Hermeneutics in Plato’s Republic,” beautifully illustrated with photos by the gifted SF Said. There is so much else of value in this issue, in particular a new article by my inspired colleague P. Sufenas Virius Lupus and a tribute to Lady Olivia Robertson by Caroline Wise. Hence I do warmly encourage purchasing it. The link above leads to a page with an animated preview, from which one can readily see that Abraxas is a journal like no other.
That being said, I have uploaded a plain version of my article, with the journal’s pagination, available from the Philosophy page. “Esoteric City” is a very close companion to “Animal and Paradigm in Plato,” and they are best read in conjunction. It is fortuitous, therefore, that they have been published in close succession. My thanks once again to the editors of Epoché and Abraxas for allowing my work to appear in their pages.
